Perambalur is a district headquarters and a taluk and municipality in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. The town has a population of over 100,000 and has over 60,000 electorates.

Perambalur has an average literacy rate of 78%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 82%, and female literacy is 73%. Main religions are Hinduism(87%), Muslim(8%) and others(5%).
